    The company is currently seeking an experienced Human Resource Assistant.

    Responsibilities

    Human Resources Assistant

     

    Position Summary/ Primary Purpose

    The Human Resources Assistant reports to the HR Manager as part of a six-person HR team, providing administrative support to the Human Resources Manager, and Human Resources team on all personnel matters for the purpose of contributing to the success of the team, department and Company.

     

    Major Areas of Responsibility

    Recruiting –

    • Arrange for advertising or posting of job vacancies, and notify eligible workers of position availability.
    • Order background checks and drug screens for candidates who accepted the offer of employment.
    • Hiring –
    • Conduct new hire orientation for new employees, processing and filing all related paperwork per company policy and government regulations.
    • Management –
    • Conduct audits for new hire satisfaction, exit interview feedback, safety, training, performance management, and other HR programs and recommends any corrective action.
    • File annual EEO & VET-100 reports.
    • Administer service award program.
    • Receive, respond, track and monitor workers compensation and unemployment claims.
    • Administer company cell phone program.
    • Create and route reports, memos and action forms, or other documentation, for approval/ notification, related to staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, classifications, and employee leaves of absence.
    • Maintain general office files and personnel files in compliance with company policy and government regulations.
    • Employee Relations –
    • Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants.
    • Provides customer service to employees by answering questions and responding to requests.

    Overall – Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

    KNOWLEDGE

    • Must have and maintain knowledge of principles and procedures for: personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, organizational development, performance management, information systems, and federal and state employment laws.
    • Must have and maintain knowledge of customer and personal service principles which includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

    Education & Experience

    • Basic - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
    • Basic - 3 years of general office experience required; HR experience preferred.
    • Basic - 3 years extensive computer experience working in a variety of computer programs; MS Programs, ADP and SAP are preferred

     

    Demonstrated Physical Abilities as Follows: Remain stationary for 50% of the time; move/traverse throughout the office to access file cabinets and office equipment; operate a computer and other productivity machinery; inspect documents; communicate with others through talking/hearing; read/identify/assess forms and correspondence.
