    Position Summary/ Primary Purpose

    The Sales Manager serves an inter-disciplinary role, bridging gaps between the various teams of different expertise, most notably engineering-oriented teams and commercially-oriented teams. The Sales Manager is a “business-to-business” sales and engineering professional who prospects new business and cultivates an existing territory of business. The Sales Manager will direct a sales team in selling Baggage Handling systems and solutions in North America and be responsible for producing proposals and winning strategies that enable us to meet our annual sales goals.  The Sales Manager interfaces with all levels of any organizations corporate real estate, maintenance, or facility and operational departments. This position reports to the Vice President as part of a sales team and contributes to the success of the team, department and Company.


    Major Areas of Responsibility

    • Work with the sales team to develop a winning sales strategy and allocate resources to put us in a position to succeed.
    • Produce compliant and effective proposals that meet our strategic objectives and deliver best value to our customers utilizing inhouse support including: Estimating, Application Engineering, Marketing Support, and Technical services.
    • Build and maintain strong customer relationships. Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the sales process and continuing through the project lifecycle.
    • Create and maintain sales contacts, research customer needs and develop application of products and services to ensure sales opportunities for products and services. Develop and deliver sales presentations and in a professional and effective manner.
    • Participate in sales forecasting and planning to ensure effective market planning and continued revenue stream.
    • Participate in development of new products, modification of existing products, & termination of ineffective products to ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and customers as defined in the company policy to ensure a positive corporate image, teamwork, and attainment of goals.
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.


    Basic Broad Knowledge as Follows

    • English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

    • Computer literate in MS Windows based software. Salesforce experience a plus.

    • Ability to recognize the scope and urgency of situations involving work related issues and to formulate plans to resolve these issues.
    • Willingness to accommodate in a variety of different situations.
    • Ability to travel, domestically and internationally, as needed, sometimes up to 25% of the time. Minimal international travel expected.
    • Ability to work over 40 hours and on weekends as needed.


    Basic Education & Experience

    • BS in Engineering/business, or an AS/AAS, or equivalent baggage handling industry experience.
    • 5 years of experience in industrial application of material handling solutions, preferably integrated baggage handling systems.
    • Sales experience in capital goods.
    • Construction Contracts – Understanding of typical construction contract terms and conditions.
    • Proven record of successful interfacing to customers in an engineering or sales environment.


    Demonstrated Physical Abilities as Follows: remain stationary for 50% of the time; move/traverse throughout the office to access file cabinets and office equipment; operate a computer and other productivity machinery; inspect documents; communicate with others through talking/hearing; read/identify/assess forms and correspondence. Visits to customer locations may include negotiating through an industrial facility, which may include but not limited to conveyor systems requiring climbing access ladders, negotiation screen guards, and catwalks.
