    The company is currently seeking a Field Service Technician.




    The Field Service Technician reports to the Director of Technical Services & Warranty and performs service and support for autonomous vehicles and/or airport baggage security inspection systems. Work is performed at the customer’s location and includes troubleshooting, setup, and installation of systems and equipment. Daily work logs and service tickets must be filled out and accurate, and there is an element of end user and owner basic training to the position. Technicians work face to face with customers on a regular basis.



    Major Areas of Responsibility

    • Provide consistent best in class customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction with our material handling systems.
    • Troubleshoot technical difficulties, including PLCs, collaborate with design engineers to ensure appropriate resolutions and counter measures are implemented to prevent future difficulties.
    • Ability to manage time, projects, follow up and to contribute to team and corporate goals as needed to ensure successful results.
    • Summarize customer difficulties and related activities and resolutions with written reports, using a template, in the time frame required and per company standards.



    • Know the capabilities and functionality of electrical controls.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite of tools.




    Skills & Abilities

    • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical problems.
    • Read and utilize mechanical & electrical drawings to assist in troubleshooting and problem resolution
    • Work alone and be a self-starter with minimal management.
    • Personal interaction and communication skills to interface with engineers, managers and the customers, to affect business results successfully.
    • Availability to travel (road warrior level) and accommodate a customer’s needs as they arise on and off shift


    Education & Experience

    • Two years (minimum) experience in troubleshooting mechatronics, electromechanical and/or mechanical equipment, or equivalent.
    • Working experience with troubleshooting PLC-based controls.
    • Associates degree in a mechanical, electrical, or mechanical technician program or equivalent education preferred.
    • Service experience with conveyor equipment or autonomous vehicles, preferred.
    • This position requires availability to travel on short notice and spend more than 80% of the time traveling.
    • This position requires on call assignments and travel to customer sites as needed, at times on short notice.
    • This position requires weekends, holidays and off shifts work at times.



    Demonstrated Physical Abilities

    Remain stationary for 50% of the time; move/traverse throughout the office to access file cabinets and office equipment; operate a computer and other productivity machinery; inspect documents; communicate with others through talking/hearing; read/identify/assess forms and correspondence.
