    The company is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer.

    Responsibilities

    Position Summary/ Primary Purpose

    • Generation of Mechanical Layouts from client concept designs and concept.
    • Generation of BIM Models

     

    Major Areas of Responsibility

    • Selection of equipment from standard base library
    • Assist Project Engineer/Manager in generation of submittal data
    • Coordinate with vendors on mechanical integration of supplied equipment
    • Concept and Design structural elements as needed to support the conveyor system
    • Coordinate with Professional Engineers (external) for required analysis of structural elements and attachments
    • Support Project Manager/Engineer with site issues
    • Conduct site surveys of building and structures effectively, to allow for the complete design of the system
    • Coordinate and direct the activities of detail-design engineers working on your project(s)

     

    Basic Broad Knowledge

    • Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor and Navisworks
    • Excellent communication skills at all levels
    • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; specifically, Excel (formulas / macros) & Project
    • Work based primarily in Louisville KY office, short term site visits required as needed by the project(s)
    • English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
    • Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
    • Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing profits.

    • Communicate effectively to all employees regardless of level of responsibility.
    • Travel to job sites and customer locations on as needed basis.

     

    Education & Experience

    • BSME or equivalent technical degree. Direct experience considered in place of Degree.
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a design role with a material handling / industrial equipment company
    • Competent level of knowledge of AutoCAD is required
    • Must be able to manipulate and work with external References (X-Refs)
    • Good understanding of Blocks and Layer settings is required
    • Experience with 3D modeling, Revit, Inventor and Navisworks

     

    Demonstrated Physical Abilities as Follows:

    Remain stationary for 50% of the time; move/traverse throughout the office to access file cabinets and office equipment; operate a computer; inspect documents; communicate with others through talking/hearing; read/identify/assess forms and correspondence.
