    The company is currently seeking an experienced Computer Systems Tech.


    Computer Hardware Engineer Level 2


    Position Summary/ Primary Purpose

    Reports to the Software Engineering Manager and works as a member of a small (2 to 4 person) project team. Works, as directed, on the research, development, and configuration and testing of computer equipment and computer networks for baggage handling applications. Author/Review operational specifications and formulate and analyze computer and network equipment requirements. The Computer Hardware Engineer Level 2 applies principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.


    Major Areas of Responsibility

    • Responsible for the design, development and testing of commercial and industrial class computers and computer network equipment using Microsoft and Cisco operation environments by using the current Microsoft and Cisco suite of computer management and development tools.
    • Work with project team members and with other technical departments in the development, configuration and testing and deployment of Automated Baggage Handling (ABH) computer systems for the airport/airline industry.
    • Assist the production and review the related product/project documentation for both internal and external use.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed to meet product/project goals.


    Broad Knowledge as Follows (Basic/Preferred)


    • 5+ years of extensive work with server class products from HP/Dell/IBM
    • 4+ years of extensive work with Microsoft Windows Server.
    • 3+ years of Windows management tools
    • 3+ year of Cisco network products and tools
    • Experience with VMWare, Hyper-V or other hypervisors.
    • Experience with software deployments and support.
    • Industrial automation (PLC or OPC) experience is a plus.


    Skills & Abilities as Follows (Basic/Preferred)

    • Good working knowledge of current Microsoft Office products and Microsoft Project
    • Ability to travel up to 20%, annually.

    Education & Experience

    • BS-CE or Equivalent is preferred.
    • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent preferred
    • Cisco CCNA – Routing and Switching certification or equivalent preferred



    Demonstrated Physical Abilities as Follows: remain stationary for 50% of the time; move/traverse throughout the office to access file cabinets and office equipment; operate a computer and other productivity machinery; inspect documents; communicate with others through talking/hearing; read/identify/assess forms and correspondence


    Travel Requirements:   Up to 25%
